Blocklabs
Encrypted & brutal. A concept-driven
promo website for a Web3 development company
task
Our partners, a Canadian marketing agency, asked us to design a promotional landing page for Blocklabs — a Web3 development company that builds crypto wallets, runs NFT campaigns, and works on other cutting-edge tech projects.

The old Blocklabs website was plain and didn’t stand out from the competition. We needed to create a new one that highlighted both the agency’s creative approach and Blocklabs' position in the Web3 space.

Issues with the old website

  • The design was too generic and didn’t help the company stand out among its competitors.
  • The texts failed to highlight the company’s strengths.
  • Numerous illustrations didn’t reinforce the ideas or messages—they seemed to exist just "for decoration."
solutions
We studied the company’s activities, target audience, and competitors. Then we developed a creative concept and wrote the copy. We infused the design concept with the ideas, then created and animated the visual elements.
Coming up with something new for an IT website is quite challenging — the visual and semantic conventions in this field are already well established: mostly dark themes, some 3D spheres, and "conceptual" headlines. We started thinking about how to apply our approach to the new website, doing things differently while still preserving the industry’s typical style. During a brainstorming session, we came up with three conceptual ideas that could serve as the basis for the website.
Concept 1.
The Blocklabs
Universe
In this concept, we wanted to present Web3 as a vast, modern world with our brand Blocklabs at its center. It’s the brightest galaxy in this universe. Every star and planet in space has its own complex structure, just like the company’s services and activities.
Concept 2.
Hello World 3.0
In this concept, we suggest taking a fresh approach to computer interfaces. To achieve this, we incorporate many references to IT culture and engage closely with the user through a virtual assistant.
concept 3.
Blocklabs Cybertech
In this concept, we decided to take the manufacturing metaphor literally and present the development agency as an actual factory. To do this, we simplify complex and abstract processes into clear, straightforward illustrations.
The client thought the first concept was too simple and traditional for the industry but liked concepts 2 and 3. We decided to combine them into one.

Next, we brainstormed how to visually represent blockchain in clear illustrations and came up with the idea of a conveyor belt moving blocks — blocks of info. To make the website more engaging, we also planned to introduce a character who would personify Bloсklabs and speak directly to users in its own voice.
Meanwhile, the copywriter began crafting headlines inspired by classic sci-fi, embedding Easter eggs referencing Douglas Adams, while the designers started sketching futuristic workshops.

Who Lives in
the Web3 Factory?
During a brainstorming session, we decided that our interactive character should act as a guide — leading users through the Blocklabs factory and revealing how everything works behind the scenes.

Creating a truly original character wasn’t easy. But after exploring robotic imagery from pop culture and video games like Portal 2, we landed on the perfect virtual guide.
Visual Approach
To give the website a sleek, high-tech feel, we pulled from industrial visuals — like conveyor belts, control panels, and endless corridors. We also tapped into '90s sci-fi, cyberpunk, and retro games to blend raw machinery with futuristic style.
Design concept
The result is a dynamic website featuring isometric illustrations and conceptual animations in every section. To add emphasis, we included a yellow glow (the Blocklabs signature color) to create a holographic effect.

All of this gives the user a sense of interacting with future technology and immerses them in the atmosphere of creating something entirely new.
Each section (like a stop during a tour) complements the story about the company, its services, and the benefits of working with Blocklabs.

On the first screen, users can watch the product being manufactured and see info displayed as cubes passing by.
Next, they can walk down a hallway of different workshops — showcasing the services.
They’ll see a wall covered with partner brand cases and logos.
Users can return to the factory through a game portal to explore the company and its processes.
They can also choose between a red or blue tablet card, each taking them to a different reality and payment option.
The end of the website,
but just the beginning of the journey
The footer invites users to unlock new possibilities and start building a successful future for their projects. Meanwhile, the guide wishes them good luck and says goodbye.
So, what’s your verdict?
